Turner Seminary Web SiteThe seminary was established as a department of
Morris Brown College in 1894, based on a Board of Trustees vote of approval in
1885. The department became Turner Theological Seminary in 1900 in honor of
Henry McNeal Turner, then the resident bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal
Church. The seminary remained on the Morris Brown campus until 1957 when it
relocated to a building on Atlanta's Mitchell Street. The following year, Turner
Theological Seminary became a founding constituent of The
ITC.
