The following information should be used if you are
considering being a potential student to Turner Seminary and the
ITC.

Financial Aid
All full time students receive tuition grants from the Theological Education
Fund of the African Methodist Episcopal Church each semester. The Dean of TTS
submits the names of full time students and the money is sent directly to the
Seminary and credited to the students account.
Most Episcopal Districts provide theological scholarships. Applicants should
contact their Bishops or persons who administer such funds.
Persons who are accepted as students can apply to the Harry and Selma Richardson
Scholarship Fund of ITC.
Federal Work Study, Federal Perkins Loan, and the William D. Ford Federal Direct
Loan are available to qualifying applicants/ students. Those who wish to apply
should complete the Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) and mail it directly to College
Scholarship Service CN6300, Princeton, New Jersey 08541. Decisions for financial
assistance for new students are made after admission to the Center.
Housing
Turner Theological Seminary provides housing for its students in its building.
Double occupancy dorm rooms, efficiencies and one bedroom apartments are
available in the building. Two and three bedroom apartments are available on the
ITC campus and the surrounding community in limited numbers. Applications for
the Turner Building are processed by TTS. Our office assists all AME. applicants
in locating housing in other campus facilities and off campus.
Location
Turner is one of six denominational schools which constitute the
Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC). The Center is one of seven
institutions in the Atlanta University Center located one ( I) mile west of
downtown Atlanta. The city of Atlanta is the educational, cultural, financial
and industrial huh of the Southeastern United States. A stronghold of African
Methodism, the Metropolitan Atlanta area is home of nearly 100 A. M. E.
churches.
Constituent Seminary
Turner Theological Seminary is a constituent of The Interdenominational
Theological Center which
* is an ecumenical graduate school of theology accredited by
the Association of Theological Schools of the United States and Canada and the
Southern Association of Schools and Colleges
* Has an interdenominational, multi-racial faculty and student body
* Has exchange relationships with Clark Atlanta University. Candler School of
Theology at Emory University, Columbia School of Theology and Erskine
Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina
Denominational Integrity
Denominational integrity is maintained by representation on
the ITC Board of Trustees Denominational Dean on campus to care for students

Our Goals For Students Include
* The acquisition of a high level of fruitful knowledge of the Christian faith
and the world in which they will do ministry.
* The development of professional competence for a chosen ministry.
* A deepening of Christian commitment.
Admission Process
* The minimum requirement is a bachelors degree from an accredited college or
university with a grade point average of 2.25 on a 4.00 scale or its equivalent.
* An endorsement from the bishop of the applicants episcopal district.
* A completed application and three completed recommendation forms.
* Transcripts and/or honorable withdrawal from any previous institution of
higher education.
Special Admission
An undergraduate with six hours or less needed to complete requirements for an
undergraduate degree.
Degree Equivalents - Applicants who have two years credit at an accredited
college or university and a record of exceptional contributions to the church
and community.
Enrichment - Persons who meet admission requirements but are not interested in
pursuing a degree may enroll for credit.
Audit - Persons who do not qualify academically or who though qualified do not
wish to enroll for credit may be admitted as auditors to some classes with
approval of the denominational dean.
