Bishop William P. DeVeaux, Presiding Bishop of the Sixth Episcopal District will leave that post during the 49th Quadrennial Session of the General Conference in June 2012.  This also brings to a close his eight years of leadership as Chair of the Turner Theological Seminary’s Board of Trustees. 

We invite you to join the Seminary in commemorating Bishop DeVeaux’s contributions as Board Chair and recognize his leadership to the District with the establishment of The David DeVeaux Theological Scholarship Fund.  Bishop DeVeaux’s deceased son, David, you will recall passed suddenly in 2003 before completing the itinerant elder ordination. This occurrence along with Bishop DeVeaux’s expressed mission of moving young preachers beyond the diaconate to receive seminary training required for the elder ordination, are the foundation on which we ask for your support.
